On October 15, Ning Jizhe, deputy director of the national development and Reform Commission, attended the foundation laying ceremony of Hungary section of Hungary Serbia railway by video speech at the invitation of Hungary. Balkovic, Minister of innovation and technology of Hungary, and momilovic, Minister of transport construction and infrastructure of Serbia, attended the foundation laying ceremony.
Ning Ji Zhe, deputy director, pointed out in his speech that President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Orban, President Vucic and other middle and Hungarian Soviet leaders attached great importance to the construction of Hungary railway. Since 2013, relevant departments and working teams of the three countries have made concerted efforts to overcome difficulties and promote the project to make important progress.
In his speech, deputy director Ning Jizhe stressed that China, Hungary and Serbia jointly promote the construction of Hungary Serbia railway cooperation, which is conducive to further deepen mutual understanding, inject strong impetus into the friendly cooperation and mutually beneficial and win-win relations between the three countries, promote the improvement of infrastructure and economic development of Hungary and Serbia, and promote the continuous consolidation and development of China Hungary and China Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership, It is conducive to promoting the interconnection between Hungary and Serbia and other regions in Europe, promoting European infrastructure construction and regional economic development, and deepening China EU mutually beneficial cooperation.
One belt, one road project, is the flagship project of the cooperation between China and the central and Eastern European countries. It is an important project for the European transport corridor and the central European land and Sea Express line. It is also a major project for China to build a "one belt and one road" initiative and a docking strategy with the European development strategy. The total length of Hungary Serbia railway is about 300 km, including 158.8 km of Hungary section and 160 km of design speed per hour. After the whole line is opened to traffic, the train journey from Budapest, Hungary to Belgrade, Serbia is expected to be reduced from the current 8 hours to less than 3.5 hours, which will significantly improve the traffic convenience of local people.
